4th of July Party Ideas

The 4th of July is a great time to get together with family and friends. It’s a nice mid-summer point to have a holiday, and if you’re lucky, you can make it an extended weekend! Unlike other holidays throughout the year, we always seem to do something different each year for the 4th of July. Some years, we take a long weekend trip over the 4th. Some years, we host a BBQ in our backyard. And some years, we have a quiet dinner at home and go out to the park for our local fireworks.

No matter where we are, or what we do, I always enjoy a nice BBQ and a great fireworks show! And overall, wherever we are, I mostly enjoy the patriotism I feel on the 4th of July. More than any other day of the year, I am grateful for our freedom. Seeing flags flying, watching fireworks, and everything done up in red, white, and blue reminds us that we do have a great history to celebrate, and I am grateful for that.

With that in mind, I’ve rounded up some fun 4th of July party ideas for your celebration. Whether it’s big or small, home or away, one of these fun ideas will make your patriotism shine!

I really love these painted lawn stars from The Concrete Cottage. The paint is construction marking paint, and it’s made to go on lawns, so no worries with harming your grass. Very fun!

I have to say I’m addicted to Red Vines to this simple idea from Room to Inspire caught my eye immediately! Isn’t it just the simplest and most festive looking treat?

Put together a patriotic playlist like Melissa at Stay Fabulous! I love her choices. I also love to mix up the genre a bit, so add some classic symphony sounds like Stars and Stripes Forever.

These mason jar candles from Thrifty Décor Chick are perfect for an outdoor BBQ and you can use them for the rest of the summer!

I found this idea on Saving by Design, but you can easily adapt to what suits you. Decorated jars of red, white, and blue candy make instant décor. And be sure to encourage your guests to sneak a treat as needed!

These Firework Fruit Kabobs from The Baby Bump Diaries could not be cuter! And super simple!

From Things to Share and Remember, these sparkly bottles make a great kids party activity. Or you can engage your kids in making these together in advance of your party! Wonderful idea!
