Administrative Professionals Day is April 24th. I know from many years of working in a large office, the job of an admin, whether receptionist, assistant, or other support, is not an easy one. Staying organized and one step ahead of everyone else can be stressful, and when done well, is certainly deserving of this annual day of recognition. Think about all those hectic tasks - meeting rooms fully equipped and ready at start time, flights that needed rescheduling, last minute hotel bookings, and countless others. Your admin stays on top of it all, and this one day of the year is all about that.

2. Treat them to a nice long lunch and let them choose the place
3. Surprise them with the afternoon off
4. Leave on their desk before they arrive a vase of flowers or a plant with a book of their personal interest. If you don't know their personal interests, you have a week to fish around and find out. (oh, and unless they are very new, you should know!) 
5. A gift card to a favorite place (make it personal, something you know they like, not generic)
6. An elegant gift for their desk, could be stationery, picture frame, something they will always look at and appreciate
7. A monogrammed portfolio. Choose one that is leather or equally elegant. The monogram will mean you took the time to pick it out and personalize. They'll appreciate that.
8. If you can afford to, go one better than #3, and give them an extra day off!
9. A subscription. This one should also be geared to their interests. It could be a magazine (business or personal), a monthly product subscription, wine club, or similar. Just be sure it matches their personal interests. Generic sends a message that you don't take the time to care about their personal interests.
